World-Class Faculty
Principal dancers, soloists and master pedagogues of the Vienna State Ballet and the world's leading companies — world-renowned artists sharing a lifetime of international stage experience.

Our Faculty
The faculty of the Winter Intensive International Masterclass 2027 represents the pinnacle of classical and contemporary ballet artistry. Ten distinguished artists — principal dancers, soloists and revered pedagogues from the Vienna State Ballet and leading international companies — gather in Vienna each winter for one week to teach, demonstrate and mentor the next generation of dancers. Every faculty member brings a singular artistic lineage and a personal teaching philosophy, ensuring that each participant receives a rich, multifaceted education.
Our faculty comprises artists who have built their careers on the most celebrated stages in the world. They have danced principal roles across the classical and neoclassical repertoire, worked with leading choreographers, and devoted themselves to the art of teaching. Their presence at the Winter Intensive gives participants an unparalleled opportunity to experience the standards, discipline and artistry that define professional ballet at the highest level.
Each artist leads specialised classes in their areas of expertise — from classical ballet technique and pointe work to repertoire and variation, pas de deux, and contemporary movement. This breadth of disciplines, delivered by true masters of each field, is what sets the Winter Intensive apart from an ordinary winter course.
Class sizes are deliberately small, and every masterclass includes individual corrections and personal feedback. Faculty members observe each dancer closely, offering guidance tailored to their physical abilities, artistic temperament and personal goals. This level of individual attention — rare in large-scale programmes — lies at the heart of the Winter Intensive philosophy.
Beyond the group classes, every participant may book private individual lessons with the faculty artist of their choice. These one-to-one sessions create space for focused work on technique, competition variations, pointe work, or artistic interpretation in a way that a group setting simply cannot offer.
For pre-professional and advanced dancers, the Winter Intensive serves as a genuine bridge between years of training and a professional career. Direct contact with working artists provides insight into the expectations, discipline and artistry of the profession. Many of our faculty are themselves involved in auditions and company decisions, and the relationships formed during the week can open doors for dedicated dancers.
