A three-module masterclass program in Musical Theatre and Dance with renowned performer and Complete Vocal Technique teacher Katja Reichert and dance instructor Peter Beil — presented in cooperation with the Vienna Ballet Academy International Summer Intensive.

We are delighted to announce a Masterclass Program consisting of workshops in Musical Theatre and Dance with Katja Reichert and Peter Beil, under the artistic direction of Mischa Sosnovschi, Head of the Dance Department, at our campus at Neubaugasse 38. It consists of three modules, which may be booked either individually or as a complete package.

Musical Song Interpretation / Vocal Coaching

with Katja Reichert

Individual work on prepared musical theatre songs with a professional pianist, plus insights from an extensive stage career.

Musical Jazz Dance

with Peter Beil

Two 90-minute classes exploring the characteristic movement vocabulary of Musical Jazz at an open level.

03

Audition & Application Training

with Katja Reichert

A 3-hour session preparing performers and dancers for auditions, castings, and admission to professional training programs.

Additional Benefit

Participants who attend Modules 1 & 3 and intend to apply for the upcoming academic year at Sunrise Studios Conservatory may have their participation officially recognized as part of the admission examination. In this case, no additional audition fee will be charged.

Katja Reichert

Voice & Musical Theatre

Katja Reichert

Swiss-born Katja Reichert was born in Zurich into an artistically oriented family. She received most of her professional training in New York, completing the Musical Theatre Diploma Program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) on Broadway, graduating with distinction. In addition, she trained in classical voice, studied dance intensively for six months at the Alvin Ailey American Dance School, and attended courses at the School for Film and Television, the Shakespeare Academy, and Steps on Broadway.

In 2010 she earned her diploma as an Authorized Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) Teacher at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen. Since September 2026 she has been a lecturer at the state-accredited Sunrise Studios Conservatory, mentoring the next generation of performers.

Her early professional work in New York included Off-Broadway readings, studio recordings, independent film productions, the Shakespeare Festival, and the Downtown Arts Festival. After returning to Europe, she collaborated with renowned directors including Francesca Zambello, Trevor Nunn, and Josef E. Köpplinger.

She has performed numerous leading musical theatre roles, most notably Maria in West Side Story at the Bregenz Festival, the American original production on a European tour, Mainz State Theatre, Bern City Theatre, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Klagenfurt City Theatre, Graz Opera, and Komische Oper Berlin. Other major roles include Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Glinda (The Wizard of Oz), and Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard) at Theater Kiel; Tuptim (The King and I), Luisa (The Fantasticks), Irene Molloy (Hello, Dolly!) at the Volksoper Vienna, Lois/Bianca (Kiss Me, Kate), the title role in the German-language premiere of Marguerite at Saarland State Theatre, and Josepha Hofer in the world premiere of Schikaneder.

Most recently, in July 2026, she appeared as Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Munich’s Gärtnerplatz Theatre. Previous engagements there include Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Mrs. Anderssen in A Little Night Music, and Riquette in Victoria and Her Hussar. She has also appeared in numerous opera and operetta productions at the Volksoper Vienna, Graz Opera, Klagenfurt City Theatre, the Vienna Festival, the Gärtnerplatz Theatre, the St. Margarethen Opera Festival, and Bühne Baden.

As a concert soloist, she has performed as Eileen in Leonard Bernstein’s Wonderful Town at the Bregenz Festival, with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm, at the Dubai Opera Ball, in a Bernstein Gala at Vienna’s Raimund Theatre, and with the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra.

Peter Beil

Dance

Peter Beil

Peter Beil received his professional training in classical ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Since then, he has worked as a professional dancer, choreographer, and dance educator, teaching Modern/Contemporary Dance, Jazz, Partnering, Jump & Turn, and Dance Conditioning.

He has performed with renowned dance companies and collaborated as a choreographer with Bob Curtis & Company, the offBallett of the Vienna State Opera under Renato Zanella, Matt Mattox, J.Y. Ginoux, Joe Alegado, and Raza Hammadi and Company, among others. He is the recipient of several international awards in contemporary dance, including first prize at the International Choreography Competition in Hanover and a prize at the competition in Florence.

In 1999, he founded his own dance company, independance. Since 2007, Peter Beil has been a dance instructor at the state-accredited Sunrise Studios Conservatory, where he teaches a wide range of dance disciplines. He has also served as a guest lecturer at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), regularly leads dance workshops throughout Austria and abroad, and works as a choreographer and dance coach at OFF Theater Vienna.

Selected Stage Credits

  • Performances during the Mozart Year 2006, including Requiem für Picoletto (Neue Oper Wien, MuseumsQuartier Vienna).
  • Repeated engagements as performer and dancer in the annual open-air dance theatre production Hannibal am Gletscher at the Rettenbach Glacier in Sölden, produced by Lawine Torrèn and Red Bull.
  • Choreographer and lead performer in Wind im Mund – The Life of François Villon (lead role, Theater Akzent) and Der Klang des Regens – Frida Kahlo (lead role, OFF Theater Vienna), both written and directed by Mike Loewenrosen.
  • VOLLGAS Scorsese and the multimedia performance THE BUG – Shut Up and Suck It at OFF Theater Vienna.

Students of Sunrise Studios Conservatory, performing Peter Beil’s choreography, achieved outstanding success at the VIBE – Vienna International Ballet Experience: Austrian Champions 2026 in the Contemporary Senior Ensemble category with I.You.We., and Austrian Champions 2025 in the Contemporary Senior Group category with You Are Mine.
